How to make a Keto Chicken Fried Steak

Ingredients:

Chicken Fried Steak:

  • 3 steaks (round or sirloin)
  • 3/4 cup Iconic unflavored protein powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • sprinkle of cumin
  • 2 Tbsp water

Instructions:

  1. • Place steaks between the clear wrap and tenderize with a meat mallet. Pound to 1/4 inch thickness
  2. • Arrange 3 bowls. In the first bowl, place 1/4 cup protein isolate. In second, beat eggs. In third, mix remaining protein isolate and seasonings. Drizzle in the water at the end and mix until small clumps form. (These make for an EXTRA crispy coating!)
  3. • Dredge steak in protein isolate, then egg, then crumbles. Heat 1-inch avocado oil in a skillet on medium and fry on both sides until golden

Biscuits:

Follow instructions on the bag. Baste top of biscuits with a leftover egg from dredging. 
Bake at 350° for 18 minutes or until golden.

Country Gravy:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp xanthan gum
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt


  1. Heat cream and chicken broth in a saucepan until bubbly. Sprinkle on xanthan gum and whisk. 
  2. Heat on low until thickened. Season with S&P.
